So I got Far Cry 4 yesterday, despite the fact that recent Ubisoft games have been a dissapointment to a down right emberessment, but Far Cry 4 seems to be pretty solid.
NOW My biggest problem with Far Cry 4 is even with the change of scenery with lots of mountains and pretty plants and animals, it feels more like an Expansion/Add-on to Far Cry 3. As with Far Cry 3, pretty much all the combatants are cookie-cutter style. YOu'll find a copy of Jimmy, Johny, Ricky, and Bobby all across the map, along with female warriors now, though theres only one varient of female fighter so its gets pretty repetitive. At least they look nice
Almost all the weapons are the same except there are a few new ones in Far Cry 4. At least the special weapons let you know in the trade posts what you need to do to unlock that special weapon.
Speaking of new weapons, I really enjoyed the Cluster Mortar. Aim up to 200+ meters away and rain down explosive armageddon on animals, people, and vehicles, scorching the earth with massive fire power.
Another thing I really like about Far Cry 4 is the Buzzer.... what is the buzzer you might ask (if you havent heard of it or played ffar cry 4 yet). Its a teeny tiny helicopter that you can fly around and wizz about the map and you can fire your secondary weapon (Pistol, Revolver, Machine PIstols like the Skorpion).... but you can also chuck throwable's off the Buzzer!
I had a blast zipping around on the Buzzer, bombing enemies with moltovs and grenades. Its such a puny helicopter and I'm flying it around just to frag people I don't like!
Theres also a Karma system in Far Cry 4, which I think is neat. Help out your allies, civilians and make clean kills while hunting and you'll gain Karma which eventually levels up to give you some nice little bonus's like 25% off on weapon upgrades, or even (later on) 25% off on weapon purchases!
Oh, and apparently if you play on Hard Core, you'll have to contend with animal borne diseases, and hypothermia (like when you swim in the cold mountain rivers for too long)
Other then that, I can't think of too much else to add. If you Played Far Cry 3, you'll feel pretty much at home in Far Cry 4. Still can't shake off the feeling that FC4 feels more like an expansion then a separate game.
